I was thinking about doing my predictions earlier but i havent got a clue whos actually playing this month, i went away for a week and everyone seemed to have stopped playing or moved guilds outside of the 14-day limit.
Is sup still around?

1. rawr - Since their build got rolled back, rawr seems like the favorite to me
2. StS - For getting close to the gold, but not quite
3. dR - Will lose to rawr in the semi
4. SpNv - Tanking recently, but always seem to be there come MAT
5. sup - Close, but not quite
6. mKay - random euros
7. Me - Sinsplit gogogo
8. NOW - random euros

If theres an update due soon im not gonna touch the predictions, given that most guilds playing currently can only play the same old 3 physical meta build it could compeltely shake the MAT up if they made any serious changes.

[Dev Update] Skill Balancing - 09 May 2008
Rather than introducing another skill update this week, we're finishing a new system to balance key skills separately for PvP and PvE. Within the next few weeks, we'll introduce PvP versions for a handful of skills. These skills will work the same way as normal skills, but have different number values (damage, healing, cost, recharge, and so on). We will do this as sparingly as possible and start with very few skills. So that we don't confuse players, we intend to keep as many skills unchanged as we can.
PvP versions are designed to target only specific skills. With such a system we can revert high-impact nerfs, such as Light of Deliverance and Defensive Anthem, to make them strong again in PvE. When we see something becoming severely imbalanced in PvP, we'd like to avoid harsh PvE nerfs without creating different versions of a large number of skills.
Skills that differ in PvP will have (PvP) at the end of their names when in PvP outposts and matches. These skills will automatically be adjusted within PvP outposts and matches. All players have to do is equip the skill as normal, and it will use the PvP version where appropriate.
We've decided to release our next skill balance update simultaneously with these changes. We can take full advantage of the new skill balancing mechanism and avoid multiple balances over a short time frame.

9th of May is 1,5 week ago. I could be wrong, but I don't expect ArenaNet to be early with the update.
As for predictions:
1. dB
2. sup
3. rawr
4. Me
5. dR
6. SpNv
7. DirT
8. be

Mistral edge will probably win, unless someone in the knockout rounds finds the balls to spec them heavily enough. I'm rooting for Be team though.
Seriously sinsplit is still incredibly overpowered, and not just the clumsiness one, but also the sinfire everyone ran 3months ago. I have absolutely no clue why everyone stopped running it all of a sudden. Too bad i can't play this mat.
Also, after 2 weeks im unbanned on gwg, yay! I still wonder which son of a bitch banned me for no reason.

Is CoSp able to play this monthly or did they start too late?
Not sure what to think of the guilds with the most QP, Glad and qE. I guess they won't do well enough, but you never know.
For the rest, LaX often ends high. be seems to be going strong too. Add the normal names from the US (dR+rawr), some strong european guilds that might do well (StS, sup, BdV, NOW, mkay). Then finish it of with SpNv and Me (if they get enough points). Gives me 12 names for 8 positions.

To be honest, I wouldn't bother putting dR too highly on the list unless a miracle happens. Afaik, they went 2-2 without me, langola, ensign, or augie in the past 2 ATs. And none of the aforementioned has guildwars'ed in the past week or so.

The Prophecy has come true. PvP seems pretty dead and the only teams playing are desperately wanting their gold cape.
Back on topic. Be Team, StS are probably going to be my Number 1 choices this time round.

Seems Anet agreed, since I couldn't even vote for dR.
